CRYPTOSPOT—watchingBuy a spot

Terms and how this works

CRYPTOSPOT is an experiment. Spots are bought, and the lead is lost the moment someone pays more. Nothing that shows up here is reviewed or endorsed by us. For the same rules asked question by question, see the FAQ.

What you buy

You buy a card on a public leaderboard, ordered by the amount paid: whoever pays most sits on top. If two people pay the same, the one who got there first stays ahead.

One payment buys one card, and that card appears on two rankings of the same set. Today covers the payments confirmed since 00:00 UTC and starts over at the next one. All time covers every card ever bought and never starts over.

The floor for any card is $10. Nobody sets the price above that: it is whatever has already been paid today. Passing the card in first place costs at least $10 more than that card paid, so each new leader raises the bar for the next one by that much — until midnight UTC, when the bar drops back to the floor. Below first place there is no step: a cent more than the card you want to pass is enough. Only today’s ranking sets the price; the all-time one is a record, and buying into it is not possible.

Your position is not permanent — at any moment somebody else can pay more and pass you. Your card is. It stays published on the all-time board with no expiry, and if it was first when a day closed, it is recorded as that day’s champion permanently.

Which day a card belongs to is decided by when the payment is confirmed, not by when the order was created. An order created just before 00:00 UTC and paid just after it joins the new day.

The payment

Payment is in USDC or USDT on Ethereum, Polygon or Base. Amounts are expressed in dollars and each stablecoin counts as one dollar.

Every order has an exact amount, with decimals of its own, and that is what lets us recognize your payment without asking you for any personal data. If you send a different amount, we will not be able to identify it automatically. That is why it is better to pay from your own wallet and not from an exchange that rounds.

You have 30 minutes to pay before the order expires. If you pay after it expired, the payment is still credited once we detect it.

Payments are on-chain and non-refundable. We cannot reverse a transfer or recover it if you sent it on the wrong network.

What we do not accept

We can take a card down, without refunding the money, if it points to illegal or misleading content, scams, malware, sexual material involving minors, incitement to hatred or violence, or if it impersonates another person or brand.

The links belong to third parties. We do not review them, we do not audit them, and we are not answerable for whatever happens on the other side. Click at your own risk.

Data

We ask for no account, no email and no phone number. To show how many people are watching we use an anonymous identifier that lives in the browser tab and is deleted when you close it.

The text and the link on your card are public, because that is the whole point.

None of this is advice

CRYPTOSPOT gives no financial, tax or investment advice. Something appearing here does not mean it is trustworthy: it only means somebody paid for it to appear.

Changes

We can change these rules. If they change, cards that are already published stay published, and days already closed keep their champions.
